EDC Las Vegas Expands to Two Weekends

Less than 48 hours after EDC 2026 wrapped, Insomniac dropped the biggest change in the festival's history: a 12-day, two-weekend format called Dusk Till Dawn, starting in 2027.

The new format

Starting next year, EDC splits into two weekends at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. EDC Dusk runs May 14 to 16, EDC Dawn runs May 21 to 23, and the week between them fills with EDC events at clubs and venues across Las Vegas. All in, it's a 12-day run, and diehards can buy a Dusk Till Dawn Experience pass covering the whole thing.

Why they're doing it

Insomniac founder Pasquale Rotella says the goal is fixing the two things everyone complains about: crowds and cost. Both weekends will run at reduced capacity, which should mean less congestion on the roads, at the hotels, and inside the festival itself. Ticket prices are coming down too. GA starts at $399 per weekend, or $599 for both, which Rotella says brings pricing back toward where it was a decade ago. Anyone who sat in speedway traffic this year knows exactly what problem this is solving.

Did it work?

Commercially, instantly. Tickets for both 2027 weekends were gone in under a day. The open question is whether splitting the crowd actually changes the on-the-ground experience or whether Vegas just absorbs two EDC weekends instead of one. Either way, the rest of the industry is watching. If Dusk Till Dawn works, expect other mega-festivals dealing with the same capacity math to try it.
